The Business Process Analyst role focuses on supporting operational effectiveness by coordinating and documenting business processes and workflows, collaborating with various stakeholders to identify improvement opportunities and maintain process documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Partners with stakeholders across departments to gather information and document current-state processes, workflows, handoffs, and routine operational procedures
- Reviews existing processes and materials to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities to improve clarity, consistency, and operational efficiency
- Develops and maintains process documentation, including workflow materials, standard operating procedures, meeting notes, and related reference tools, in collaboration with subject matter experts
- Coordinates assigned process-related activities by scheduling meetings, tracking action items, maintaining timelines, organizing documentation, and following up with stakeholders on routine deliverables
- Supports cross-functional meetings and working sessions by preparing materials, capturing decisions, documenting follow-up items, and helping maintain alignment on next steps
- Supports implementation of new or revised processes by coordinating communications, updating documentation, and assisting teams with adoption of established procedures
- Maintains organized, accurate, and current process documentation and related records to support day-to-day operations and ongoing reference needs
- Partners with operational and leadership stakeholders to support process-related priorities, maintain documentation standards, and assist with coordination of improvement efforts
- Performs other duties as assigned, to advance organizational initiatives and operational effectiveness
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field required
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in business process analysis, operational improvement, workflow analysis, project coordination, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to assess business needs, document current-state processes, and identify opportunities for process improvement
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret business processes, workflows, and operational data to identify gaps, inefficiencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement
- Strong requirements-gathering and facilitation skills, including the ability to engage stakeholders, ask effective questions, and translate complex or varied input into clear, actionable documentation
- Ability to document current-state and future-state processes, including developing process maps, workflow diagrams, and standard operating procedures
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate information, assess impact, and develop practical, sustainable recommendations
- Ability to manage workstreams independently, including organizing tasks, coordinating meetings, tracking action items, and maintaining timelines across multiple stakeholders
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings, facilitate discussions, and communicate recommendations clearly to diverse audiences
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including clinical, operational, administrative, and support functions, to foster alignment and shared understanding
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain discretion, and protect the confidentiality of sensitive operational and organizational information
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs
- Proficiency with standard business and documentation tools, including Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams
- Ability to obtain and maintain criminal record/fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation in accordance with Easterseals Southern California and/or program requirements
- Ability to travel throughout Southern California using reliable transportation; maintain a driving record that meets Transportation Safety Standards; and maintain current auto insurance and vehicle registration
- Ability to pass a post-offer medical examination
- Must pass all drug testing required by ESSC
- Professional certification in project management, business process analysis, process improvement, or continuous improvement (e.g., Six Sigma, PMP) preferred
- Experience in healthcare, human services, or similarly complex operational environment preferred
