NOARK Electric is seeking an experienced Application Engineer – Medium Voltage (MV) to support their expanding business in North America. This role focuses on pre-sales technical support and application engineering for medium voltage power distribution equipment, bridging customers, sales teams, and engineering teams to ensure customer technical requirements are met.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support during the pre-sales and bidding phase, working closely with sales teams on project opportunities
- Review RFQs, bid documents, one-line diagrams, and technical specifications to support quotation development and commercial alignment with HQ teams
- Coordinate with HQ commercial and engineering teams to ensure accurate and competitive pricing and technical solutions
- Prepare technical proposals, compliance matrices, deviation lists, and supporting documentation for customer submissions
- Analyze and interpret customer technical specifications and project requirements
- Translate customer needs into clear and structured technical inputs for HQ engineering and product teams
- Ensure alignment between customer requirements and product capabilities, identifying gaps and proposing solutions
- Participate in customer meetings, technical discussions, and clarification sessions
- Provide timely and professional responses to technical inquiries during the bidding phase
- Support sales teams in building customer confidence through strong technical communication
- Develop and maintain strong technical knowledge of medium voltage switchgear products and applications
- Support application engineering activities related to power distribution systems, substations, industrial facilities, data centers, renewable energy projects, and utility applications
- Review system requirements including voltage levels, fault current ratings, protection schemes, relay configurations, and equipment integration requirements
- Apply technical expertise to ensure solutions are practical, compliant, and aligned with project requirements
- Interpret and apply relevant North American standards, including IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, CSA, UL, and NEC requirements
- Ensure proposed solutions meet local compliance and application requirements
- Support product certifications and customer technical compliance reviews
- Act as a key interface between North America and HQ teams
- Communicate local market requirements, customer feedback, and project insights to Product Management and R&D
- Support product localization and continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide technical training and guidance to internal sales teams
- Support development of technical materials, application guides, and product presentations
- Assist sales teams with customer-facing technical presentations and solution discussions
- Build understanding of key application segments such as data centers, utilities, renewable energy, industrial facilities, EPC contractors, and critical infrastructure projects
- Provide input to improve solution competitiveness and product positioning
- Monitor market trends, customer requirements, and competitive offerings within the MV switchgear market
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 5–10 years of experience in medium voltage power distribution equipment
- Minimum 3 years of experience with medium voltage switchgear products
- Experience in pre-sales technical support, application engineering, project engineering, or bid support roles
- Strong knowledge of medium voltage switchgear applications and power distribution systems
- Solid understanding of protective relays, protection coordination, short-circuit analysis, and system integration
- Ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams, control schematics, technical specifications, and construction documents
- Familiarity with IEEE standards and general North American compliance requirements
- Experience supporting technical bidding / RFQ processes
- Experience with data centers, utilities, industrial plants, renewable energy, or large infrastructure projects
- Experience working with cross-regional engineering teams (HQ collaboration)
- Familiarity with MV switchgear manufacturers such as Eaton, Schneider Electric, Siemens, ABB, Powell, Vertiv, Toshiba, Hitachi Energy, or similar suppliers
