Senior DevOps Engineer

Harrods is one of the world’s leading luxury department stores, and they are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to support their Digital Technology Team. The role involves maintaining deployment pipelines, ensuring operational excellence, and collaborating with various teams to deliver scalable digital services.

Responsibilities:

• Support and overall service of all production and non-production applications and environments across our ecommerce & digital estate
• Own and maintain the deployment pipelines
• Ensure operational excellence
• Partner closely with development, the wider IT team, as well as third-party providers to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable digital services
• Balance hands-on operational responsibilities with strategic improvements
• Ensure monitoring, security, and performance are embedded into every solution
• Mentor peers
• Promote best practices
• Drive continuous optimisation across platforms and processes
• Ensure that monitoring, security, and any performance implications are considered
• Identify proactive measures that can enable the team to preventatively optimise and continuously improve the solutions

Requirements:

• demonstrable hands-on experience in Azure cloud
• Azure DevOps
• deploying highly available, scalable, and resilient applications and infrastructure
• excellent problem determination skills
• ability to diagnose complex technical issues
• Experience CICD Pipelines
• deploying scalable web/ mobile applications in the cloud
• Experience with Azure Cloud and Azure DevOps
• monitoring and troubleshooting business critical application such as web and mobile apps using logs, application monitoring, and synthetic monitoring
• Experience of scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, and C#
• Experience of ITSM tool, ITIL and ISO 27001
• Experience of Deploying infrastructure as code (Pulumi preferred)
• Experience in containerisation technology (e.g Docker, AKS)
• Experience with database technologies must be MSQL and Cosmos DB
