The Director of Product Management EMEA and Americas will own the product line's P&L, driving growth and strategy across the region while collaborating with various teams to optimize portfolio and pricing strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Business ownership (P&L)
- Lead regional product line P&L with accountability for:
- Volume, price, mix, and contribution margin
- Forecast accuracy and gap closure actions
- Identify and eliminate profit leakage
- Monitor variable and fixed cost trends
- Run monthly business performance cadence (vs plan, vs prior year)
- Identify and execute margin expansion levers (pricing, cost, mix, footprint)
- Lead annual strategic planning & budgeting for the regional product line
- Define and enforce pricing strategy
- Partner with Sales to:
- Win strategic deals
- Protect margin
- Implement disciplined “give-to-get” structures
- Price individual sales opportunities and projects
- Negotiate contracts
- Own price governance and escalation support
- Lead portfolio optimization:
- Rationalization (low-margin SKUs, complexity reduction)
- Growth platforms (high-value applications, specialty grades)
- Partner with the Technology & Innovation team to define the global product roadmap aligned to:
- Market trends
- Customer needs
- Competitive positioning
- Translate strategy into clear product line priorities by region
- Develop deep end-market insight (automotive, medical, industrial, etc.)
- Engage directly with strategic customers and OEMs
- Identify white space opportunities and drive commercialization plans
- Monitor competitors and define response strategies
- Act as the central integrator across:
- Sales (execution)
- Operations (capacity, cost, supply)
- Technology & Innovation (innovation pipeline)
- Supply Chain (inventory, service levels)
- Partner with S&OP team on product production site and inventory strategies
- Drive decision-making in ambiguity and trade-offs
- Surfaces project ideas for cost initiatives with manufacturing, sourcing, and supply chain
- Support demand management process with rigorous validation of regional forecasts against macro-market indicators and "on-the-ground" customer reality to ensure supply plans are aligned with actual market trajectory rather than just historical data
- Partner with Quality and manufacturing teams to drive global quality standards and the resolution of high-stakes customer complaints and claims. Drive root-cause improvements across manufacturing sites to safeguard premium brand integrity and minimize financial liability
- Ensure rigorous compliance with product stewardship mandates and the execution of Change Management (MOC) policies, protecting global market access and technical product consistency
- Own new product commercialization pipeline for the region:
- Prioritization based on ROI and strategic fit
- Speed-to-market and adoption tracking
- Partner with Technology & Innovation (T&I) to:
- Focus on high-return innovation
- Kill low-value projects early
- Deliver above-market growth independent of macro conditions
Requirements:
- Degree, preferably in Business, Engineering (Civil, Industrial, Chemical) or equivalent through experience
- Must also have six (6) years of experience in sales and product management in a global, multi-end-market environment
- Position requires travel up to 25% of the time to manufacturing and customer sites throughout the Americas and Europe
- Remotely based in The Netherlands
