Sr Application SQL DBA

Operations & Maintenance (O&M):
Perform daily IT operations and maintenance for MIS applications and systems.
Install, update, and configure hardware and software to maintain application functionality.

Development & Enhancement (optional):
Maintain and improve web applications, databases, and user interfaces.
Support user training, updates, and change requests.
Ensure compliance with FISMA security requirements and IRS Internal Revenue Manuals (IRM).
Resolve issues from monitoring, mandates, and annual security testing.

Database Management:
Deploy updates to Production and UAT databases.
Implement data corrections and generate monthly snapshots.
Execute scripts for CI reorganizations and manage sanitized databases for development/testing.
Monitor SQL jobs, backups, and coordinate server actions (e.g., security patches).

System & Application Support:
Maintain high-performing interfaces between MIS projects and IRS systems.
Maintain the system in accordance with SLA values
Perform design, testing, and documentation updates per IRS development standards.
Support rapid deployments and ensure compliance with IRS infrastructure, security, and privacy policies.

Compliance & Standards:
Adhere to IRS ELC, EA, IRM, Section 508, NIST, FISMA, and software testing/configuration standards.

Project Management:
Maintain requirements in the government's preferred requirements management application.
Store source code in Rational Team Concert/StarTeam.
Track defects in Rational Quality Manager and maintain documentation in SharePoint PALs.
Support UAT, production deployments, performance testing, modernization, and enhancement activities.
