Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Analyst to support data-driven initiatives for state government healthcare programs, including Medicaid and Human Services. This role involves working directly with clients such as the FSSA Data and Analytics team and the State of Indiana to deliver analytics, technology, and healthcare services. You will play a critical role in aligning technology solutions with business strategies, performing complex data analysis, and supporting the development of innovative solutions that improve healthcare outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with business clients and project teams to gather and document business and technical requirements.
- Analyze entity relationship diagrams, file specifications, and database models to create detailed ETL mappings, Web API designs, and BI report specifications.
- Perform data analysis, cleansing, test data creation, and verification during design and testing phases.
- Develop and execute SQL queries for data analysis, testing, and validation.
- Create and maintain documentation including test plans, traceability matrices, work breakdown structures, and change requests.
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and assist in the development of testing documentation and matrices.
- Identify gaps in processes or requirements and recommend solutions to mitigate risks.
- Facilitate customer meetings, including requirements gathering and JAD sessions.
- Support Agile and SUITE/PMM methodologies throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, or Systems Analyst in a data warehouse or IT environment.
- 4+ years of experience analyzing database structures and developing specifications for ETL, Web APIs, or reporting.
- 2+ years of experience developing SQL queries.
- 3+ years of experience analyzing business processes and workflows.
- Experience working in a client-facing role with excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Medicaid, Medicare, or healthcare-related government contracts.
- Experience with Agile methodologies.
- Background in ETL and data warehousing.
- Experience with Teradata SQL Assistant, SharePoint, and MS Project.
- Experience working with data modelers and developers to optimize physical data design.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and interpret complex data sets.
