Cyber Security Consultant (3-6 Month Contract)
Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Consultant to support a high-impact engagement focused on strengthening security posture, improving compliance readiness, and enhancing overall cyber resilience. This consultant will work closely with technical and business stakeholders to assess risks, implement security solutions, and provide strategic guidance across cloud and enterprise environments.

This is a 3-6 month consulting engagement with the potential for extension based on project needs.

Key Responsibilities
Cyber Security & Technical Leadership
Assess, design, and implement cyber security solutions aligned with business objectives and industry best practices.
Conduct security risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, and security audits across enterprise environments.
Monitor, analyze, and respond to security incidents, threats, and vulnerabilities, providing remediation recommendations.
Develop, maintain, and enhance security policies, standards, procedures, and governance frameworks.
Support compliance initiatives related to ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST, CIS Controls, GDPR, HIPAA, and other regulatory frameworks.
Provide cloud security expertise across Azure and Oracle Cloud environments.
Evaluate emerging security technologies and recommend appropriate tools and solutions.
Assist in strengthening security operations, monitoring capabilities, and incident response processes.

Stakeholder & Advisory Responsibilities
Serve as a trusted advisor on cyber security strategy, risk management, and governance initiatives.
Lead security reviews, technical workshops, presentations, and stakeholder discussions.
Partner with business and technical teams to align security initiatives with organizational goals.
Collaborate with technology partners and vendors on solution design, implementation strategies, and best practices.
Identify opportunities to improve security maturity and operational effectiveness.

Project & Leadership Responsibilities
Support cross-functional teams throughout the planning, execution, and delivery of security initiatives.
Develop technical documentation, risk assessments, security recommendations, and implementation roadmaps.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior security professionals when needed.
Stay current on emerging cyber threats, security technologies, and industry trends.
Manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining high-quality deliverables and client satisfaction.

Required Qualifications
4-6+ years of hands-on cyber security experience.
Strong expertise in:
Network Security
Endpoint Security
Cloud Security
Identity & Access Management (IAM)
Security Operations
Vulnerability Management
Experience working with:
SIEM Platforms
EDR/XDR Solutions
DLP Technologies
Web Application Firewalls (WAF)
SOC Operations
Identity Governance and Access Controls
Deep understanding of security frameworks including ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls, and SOC 2.
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced consulting environment.
