VERSANT is a leading force in news, sports and entertainment, and they are seeking a Software Engineer to join their growing engineering team. The role involves designing and developing scalable, secure, and user-centric applications for Versant’s next-generation platforms while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver full-stack solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver full-stack solutions that solve real business problems
- Implement scalable, fault-tolerant microservices and modern front-end applications
- Use SaaS and low-code/no-code platforms where appropriate to accelerate delivery
- Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and team knowledge-sharing sessions
- Write secure, performant, and maintainable code
- Work closely with product and architecture teams to ensure alignment in technical direction and business priorities
Requirements:
- 3+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong knowledge of backend development in languages such as Java, Node.js, Python, or Go
- Skilled in modern JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML/CSS, and frameworks like React, Vue, or Angular
- Develop scalable and high performing microservices architecture and RESTful APIs
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure). Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins or similar)
- Ability to troubleshoot and debug complex issues in distributed environments
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team
- Exposure to GenAI tools, SaaS platforms, and low-code/no-code tools
- Familiarity with serverless technologies and event-driven architecture
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tooling (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Working knowledge of monitoring stacks like Datadog, Prometheus, or ELK
- Experience modernizing legacy systems or integrating with enterprise platforms
- Awareness of DevOps practices and infrastructure-as-code. Background in media, entertainment business domain is a plus
