
Role Overview: The Tier 3 Network Engineer is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and security of our wireless and wired network infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and monitor high-speed network systems, including Cisco Nexus core/TOR switches, Cisco 9300 floor switches, and ASR Internet routers.
Support the Wi-Fi infrastructure, comprising Aruba CX6300 switches and Aruba Wireless Access Points managed via HPE Aruba Central.
Oversee WAN and Internet connectivity, tracking circuits among campus sites and handling connectivity to cloud services.
Utilize General Functional Expertise (GFE) tools such as SolarWinds Orion and Wireshark for network monitoring and deep-level troubleshooting.
Configure advanced network alerting, such as "Alert Dependencies" in SolarWinds, to prevent alert fatigue during core system outages.
Manage and support the cloud-based VoIP infrastructure under the direction of the Technical Monitor(s). This includes the provisioning, configuration, and troubleshooting of both physical handsets (hard phones) and software-based applications (soft phones) as they are phased in during the contract lifecycle.
Provide technical support for the IT operations, ensuring stable network connectivity and hardware functionality for point-of-sale (POS) environments.
Required Qualifications & Certifications:
Expert-level knowledge of routing and switching technologies.
Proven proficiency in managing and configuring SolarWinds.
Certification Required: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
