About this roleJob Summary The SDET will play a key role in modernizing and advancing the organization's test automation strategy by developing scalable, maintainable, and integrated automation frameworks across UI and API layers. This position combines automation engineering, quality assurance, and Agile collaboration to support both automated and manual testing efforts, enabling teams to deliver high-quality software efficiently and reliably. Key Responsibilities Partner with Agile feature teams to understand user stories, define acceptance criteria, and promote a test-first mindset. Design, develop, maintain, and enhance test automation frameworks using Playwright, TypeScript, and other approved automation tools. Support API and UI test automation initiatives across multiple applications and platforms. Drive migration efforts from legacy automation frameworks, including Selenium and Postman/Newman, to modern automation solutions aligned with CI/CD strategies. Collaborate with developers and QA teams to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines. Design and execute test cases, exploratory testing activities, and quality validation for complex workflows. Develop and maintain automated API tests for REST and SOAP services. Create and maintain end-to-end automated test suites covering functional and non-functional requirements. Participate in code reviews and contribute to automation framework architecture and design decisions. Develop and maintain SQL queries to validate data integrity and support test data management. Ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, and defects. Support compliance with organizational security, audit, and quality standards. Assist Agile teams with manual testing activities when automation coverage is not available. Mentor team members and promote quality engineering best practices across development teams. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to testing processes, automation strategies, and quality metrics. Required Qualifications Strong experience developing and maintaining test automation frameworks. Hands-on experience with Playwright and TypeScript. Experience with REST and SOAP API testing. Experience with UI test automation frameworks and methodologies. Experience integrating automated testing within CI/CD pipelines. Strong SQL skills for data validation, testing, and reporting. Experience working in Agile software development environments. Knowledge of software testing methodologies, automation design patterns, and quality assurance best practices. Experience performing exploratory testing and manual testing activities. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to explain testing strategies, automation decisions, and quality practices to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Cypress or similar modern automation frameworks. Experience migrating automation solutions from Selenium and Java-based frameworks. Experience transitioning from Postman/Newman to enterprise automation platforms. Familiarity with test reporting, dashboarding, and quality metrics within DevOps environments. Experience with test case management tools such as qTest, QMetry, or similar platforms. Experience with requirements traceability and defect management processes. Experience mentoring QA engineers and supporting enterprise automation strategies. Education: Bachelors Degree
