FloQast is a leader in the accounting industry, offering an AI-powered Accounting Transformation Platform designed for accountants. The Staff Product Designer will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience across the FloQast platform and the Flow UI Design System, focusing on creating intuitive, high-quality design solutions that enhance user engagement and streamline workflows.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the domain expert and owner for critical, system-wide experiences, such as in-app notifications, global navigation, and page architectures, ensuring a unified and consistent user journey across all product lines
- Translate complex AI capabilities and enterprise requirements into intuitive, high-trust, and scalable experiences across the platform
- Own the strategic vision, roadmap, and execution for the Flow UI Design System. Drive the transformation, updates, and rollout of the system, ensuring it is scalable, technically sound, and fully aligned with business needs and product architecture
- Partner directly with Front-End Engineering Leads and Leadership to ensure Flo UI is technically sound, maintainable, and reflects best practices. You will serve as a broad influencer on the direction of the overall product architecture as it relates to UI/UX implementation
- Establish processes and governance to maximize the impact and adoption of the design system across all product and engineering teams, accelerating design and development velocity for the entire organization
- Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering Leadership to define the product roadmap for Flow UI and design debt, proactively identifying and scoping opportunities for platform-level standardization and improvement
- Act as a senior design leader, providing mentorship and coaching to designers across the organization in system thinking, design systems best practices, quality execution, and cross-functional leadership
- Set and enforce the highest bar for design quality, consistency, and accessibility across the entire platform through system documentation and rigorous component review while still allowing for speed and innovation
Requirements:
- 7+ years of professional experience designing and successfully shipping high-quality, complex SaaS or enterprise products at scale, with a significant track record of organizational impact
- Expert mastery over the entire Design Systems lifecycle
- Proven, expert-level experience in leading, building, scaling, and governing a large-scale, enterprise-grade Design System, including defining component architecture, governance models, and comprehensive documentation standards
- Technical fluency required to influence code and front-end architecture, including a strong understanding of front-end development technologies (e.g., React, HTML/CSS)
- Expert in managing the integrity of design decisions across code, including ensuring design decisions are implemented consistently in code through Design Token Management tools like Figma Tokens or Style Dictionary
- Fluent in modern developer workflows and component distribution, including familiarity with developer processes such as Version Control (Git/GitHub) and managing component distribution via Package Management
- Prioritize system quality assurance and comprehensive documentation, including experience with component documentation platforms like Storybook
- Maintain a world-class portfolio that demonstrates exceptional systems thinking, showcasing exceptional visual design, interaction design, and strategic thinking
- Proven leader in founding and launching new product foundations, including successfully leading and shipping product initiatives from 0-1
- Demonstrate advanced proficiency with specialized design systems tools, including mastery of core design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma) and advanced proficiency in leveraging AI-powered tools
- Exceptional strategic collaboration and organizational influencing skills, with a proven ability to articulate and defend design and system rationale to executive leadership
- Lead and inform system priorities through rigorous research and data, utilizing both qualitative user research and quantitative data
