About this roleJob Summary The Tanium Security Engineer is responsible for supporting, implementing, optimizing, and maintaining enterprise endpoint security solutions with a primary focus on the Tanium platform. This role will lead security initiatives related to patch management, endpoint compliance, threat response, vulnerability remediation, and operational resilience within a highly secure infrastructure environment. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Tanium, security engineering best practices, automation, and endpoint management technologies. Key Responsibilities Lead and support the implementation, configuration, and optimization of the Tanium platform across the enterprise environment. Configure, administer, and maintain Tanium modules, including Patch, Deploy, Threat Response, and Comply. Execute endpoint patching, vulnerability remediation, and compliance activities to maintain a strong security posture. Monitor, investigate, and respond to security incidents utilizing Tanium and other security technologies. Develop, maintain, and enhance automation scripts using PowerShell and/or Python to improve operational efficiency. Manage endpoint configurations and ensure adherence to organizational security standards and policies. Support operations within highly secure and air-gapped environments, including managing offline updates and secure data transfer processes. Collaborate with security engineering team members to maintain and secure endpoint, server, and infrastructure environments. Assist in managing and securing enterprise server infrastructure and data center environments. Support identity security and privileged access management initiatives using CyberArk or similar solutions. Contribute to business continuity and disaster recovery readiness efforts by ensuring security controls remain effective during operational disruptions. Identify, assess, and mitigate security risks across endpoints, infrastructure, and enterprise systems. Maintain documentation related to security configurations, procedures, and operational processes. Participate in security improvement initiatives and recommend enhancements to strengthen overall security posture. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support security, compliance, and operational objectives. Required Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of experience in Security Engineering, Cybersecurity, Endpoint Security, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with the Tanium platform. Proven experience implementing and supporting Tanium in enterprise environments. Strong expertise with Tanium Patch, Deploy, Threat Response, and Comply modules. Experience with vulnerability management, patch management, and endpoint security best practices. Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell and/or Python. Experience working within highly secure or air-gapped environments. Familiarity with CyberArk or other Privileged Access Management (PAM) solutions. Strong understanding of endpoint security, system hardening, and security operations. Experience responding to security incidents and supporting remediation activities. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and quickly adapt to new environments. Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams and stakeholders. Ability to work onsite from day one as required. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting enterprise-scale endpoint security environments. Knowledge of business continuity, disaster recovery, and operational resilience practices. Experience managing security operations within data center environments. Familiarity with enterprise security frameworks, compliance standards, and governance requirements. Experience supporting infrastructure environments consisting of large endpoint and server populations. Education: Bachelors Degree
