Staff Software Engineer

Limitless is a seed-stage infrastructure company founded by engineers who built a widely used open-source stream processing framework. They are seeking a Staff Software Engineer specializing in Cloud Infrastructure to join a small, senior team and take ownership of their cloud platform, focusing on Kubernetes development and multi-cloud deployments.

Responsibilities:

• Building Kubernetes operators and controllers (controller-runtime, kubebuilder, Crossplane, ClusterAPI), not just operating Kubernetes
• Multi-tenant SaaS, BYOC, on-prem deployments and OSS - you span all of it
• Multi-cloud across AWS, GCP and bare metal - generalists only, not one-cloud engineers
• Reliability and observability across the fleet - SLOs, traces, alerting, runbooks
• Working directly with enterprise customers on BYOC and on-prem deployments
• On-call rotation - a US East Coast hire meaningfully improves their timezone coverage

Requirements:

• Kubernetes operator/controller development experience (controller-runtime, ClusterAPI, Crossplane) - this is the must-have
• A software engineer first - production Go, Rust or C++, not just YAML
• Built or operated a control plane or cloud platform at a product company
• Strong opinions on how multi-tenant systems should run
• Comfortable owning end-to-end, from design through to production operations
• Remote US (East Coast preferred)
