Parsons Corporation is a leader in providing innovative solutions for infrastructure projects, and they are seeking a Field Electrical Engineer to provide engineering support for construction and installation crews. The role involves field identification and planning, validating designs, conducting surveys, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Field identification and planning of fixtures, equipment and system layouts
- Validating designs against actual field conditions and resolving discrepancies
- Conducting field surveys, inspections, and data collection to support design and construction
- Interpreting drawings, specifications, and technical documents for field personnel
- Supporting installation, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of systems, fixtures and equipment
- Coordinating with other disciplines (civil, structural, mechanical, architectural), other contractors, and subcontractors
- Preparing/redlining drawings, design calculations, quantities, and construction documentation
- Preparing site survey reports, field reports, maintaining project records, and documenting as‑built conditions
- Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and local codes
- Adhering to Parsons safety, quality, and documentation procedures
- Performing other engineering duties as assigned
- This role anticipates 25-50% CONUS travel. There will be no dedicated office location; when not on travel, work will be performed remotely
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical or electronics engineering (Electrical, Electronic, Civil, Structural, Architectural or Mechanical) from an ABET accredited program
- Four (4)+ years of relevant engineering experience (power design, construction, or field) in infrastructure or facilities projects
- Prior experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents
- Familiarity with applicable engineering codes and standards
- Ability to travel nationwide and work on active construction sites in varying field conditions
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to pass required background checks
- Strong communication and coordination skills for working with multidisciplinary teams and clients
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and valid driver's license
- Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT/FE) certification
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Experience supporting construction activities, field investigations, and resolution of field issues
- Experience interfacing directly with client and other stakeholders
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic electronic documentation tools
- OSHA 30‑hour safety training
- Prior experience on federal, transportation, aviation, or large infrastructure projects
- Experience with Bluebeam markup software
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently in remote and field environments
- Experience in requirements development and specification writing
