Topix Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is seeking a Senior Director, Strategic Accounts & New Business Development to lead commercial efforts in acquiring new strategic accounts and expanding existing key accounts. This hands-on role requires strong leadership and revenue accountability, focusing on building relationships and developing strategies for growth in the aesthetics and medical sectors.
Responsibilities:
- Personally own and drive new strategic logo acquisition across multi-location medical spa groups, dermatology groups, plastic surgery groups, and professional aesthetics platforms
- Build and manage a qualified pipeline of new strategic account opportunities, including target identification, outreach strategy, qualification, deal progression, negotiation, and close
- Establish executive-level relationships with prospective strategic accounts and convert those relationships into measurable revenue
- Develop clear account pursuit plans for priority targets, including stakeholders, opportunity size, competitive positioning, timing, and next steps
- Own revenue growth within assigned existing named multi-location and key accounts
- Partner with assigned team member(s) to expand account penetration, increase reorder velocity, grow location adoption, and identify cross-sell or private label expansion opportunities
- Support strategic business reviews, growth planning, and executive-level engagement with key existing accounts
- Ensure named strategic accounts have clear account plans, growth targets, and defined actions to improve performance
- Directly support, coach, and develop assigned team member(s) responsible for existing named multi-location and key accounts
- Establish a consistent operating cadence, including pipeline reviews, account planning, deal strategy, customer follow-up, and performance expectations
- Coach team member(s) on strategic account development, customer communication, opportunity creation, and revenue expansion
- Hold assigned team member(s) accountable to activity, pipeline, account growth, and customer engagement expectations
- Build and refine the Strategic Accounts operating model, including account segmentation, target account prioritization, pipeline discipline, reporting cadence, handoff process, and escalation paths
- Create visibility into new logo pipeline, strategic account growth, expansion opportunities, risks, and key customer needs
- Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Training, Operations, Finance, Customer Experience, and Sales Operations to remove friction and improve strategic account execution
- Identify process gaps, customer experience issues, and internal barriers that limit growth within strategic accounts
- Help define the future-state structure, coverage model, and success metrics for the Strategic Accounts function
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
- 10+ years of progressive sales, business development, strategic accounts, national accounts, or commercial leadership experience in aesthetics, dermatology, medical device, skincare, pharmaceutical, or related professional channels
- Proven track record of personally opening, developing, and closing new strategic or enterprise-level accounts
- Demonstrated experience growing existing strategic, national, multi-location, or key accounts
- Existing, proven relationships with multi-location medical spa groups, dermatology groups, plastic surgery groups, and/or professional aesthetics platforms required
- Experience carrying and delivering against revenue targets
- Experience coaching, leading, or managing sales/account team members in a player-coach capacity
- Strong pipeline management, negotiation, forecasting, account planning, and executive-level communication skills
- Ability to operate nationally across a complex customer base and partner effectively with cross-functional teams
- Must reside in the United States with convenient access to a major commercial airport
- Must be available for frequent domestic travel, including customer meetings, field travel, strategic business reviews, tradeshows, and industry events
- Must be available for periodic evening and weekend commitments related to tradeshows, customer events, and business needs
