The Software Development Engineer II role is part of the Partner Payment Account Experience team, responsible for building and improving payment experiences for lodging and vacation rental partners. This position involves designing and developing full-stack services and collaborating with various teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and evolve reliable, scalable full‑stack services and applications, including system design (LLD), API design, and data modeling for clearly scoped product capabilities across both frontend and backend components
- Deliver end‑to‑end features across the full software development lifecycle by implementing designs, writing high‑quality code, creating and executing tests, and contributing to deployment, monitoring, and ongoing operational support for web‑based and service‑based experiences
- Collaborate with other engineers, product managers, designers, and technical partners to understand requirements, break down work, and implement full‑stack technical solutions that integrate with multiple services and domains
- Improve code quality, reliability, and performance across the stack by following and contributing to best practices in testing, observability, security, accessibility, and operational excellence for the services and user interfaces you work on
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge sharing for both frontend and backend technologies, supporting a culture of learning and continuous improvement while steadily expanding your technical scope and impact
- Safely integrate and operate AI/ML‑enabled solutions that improve outcomes, with familiarity with AI‑driven systems, tools, or workflows and applying AI/ML concepts to real world products, including using AI‑assisted development tools to enhance productivity and code quality
