The Trade Compliance Specialist ensures compliance with U.S. Customs and other government importing regulations. They will assist in communicating and supporting operational processes related to importing requirements and TJX policies and procedures.
- The role ensures accurate and complete import information is provided to enable compliant and timely filings for US Customs entry clearance. The Specialist supports corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives with direct vendors and key internal partners.
- The successful candidate will demonstrate strong critical?thinking and problem?solving skills, with the ability to independently research, analyze, and troubleshoot customs and trade compliance matters. The role requires managing multiple priorities in a high?volume environment while maintaining strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- This position supports daily operations by managing incoming correspondence, maintaining and updating tracking tools and systems, generating reports, monitoring workflows, and assisting with audits and compliance initiatives.
- This role is remote; however, candidates local to the Marlborough Massachusetts office are preferred. Occasional on?site attendance may be required for training, meetings, or periodic business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Review vendor documentation for accuracy regarding customs classification.
- Assist in compliance audit and validations; this can include AD/CVD, HTS Code validation.
- Maintain / create Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documents.
- Create and maintain reporting for internal and third-party providers.
- Corresponding with internal stake holders and third-party service providers to resolve issues.
- Contacting new vendors as part of their start up onboarding.
- Support billing process.
- Monitoring performance and productivity of third-party service providers.
- Audits reports for accurate information.
- Special projects and any support of each team as needed or requested
Requirements:
- Background in Customs Compliance and Importing.
- Customs Brokers License strongly preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Experience working in a fast paced corporate setting.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and processes.
- Proficient computer skills, including Word, Excel (ex: vlookup, Pivot Tables), Microsoft Teams, Power BI and PowerPoint.
- Ability to perform online research.
- Willingness to learn, take direction well and being a team player.
- Flexibility and positive attitude.
- Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail.
- Highly organized and capable of efficiently balancing projects at the same time, setting appropriate priorities
