They are seeking a Senior FinOps Developer Engineer to join their Cloud Business Office team, focusing on maximizing the value of AWS cloud investments through automation and cost optimization strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain automated solutions to monitor, analyze, and optimize AWS spend across accounts and services
- Identify and implement cost-saving strategies (e.g., rightsizing, Savings Plans, Reserved Instances, storage tiering, scheduling)
- Build cost-aware architectures in collaboration with engineering teams
- Design and implement FinOps tooling, APIs, and data pipelines for cost visibility and governance
- Automate cost allocation, tagging enforcement, and chargeback/showback models
- Integrate AWS billing data into centralized data platforms for analytics and reporting
- Build scalable dashboards and reporting systems using tools like QuickSight, Tableau, or Power BI
- Develop forecasting models and anomaly detection systems for cloud spend
- Enable self-service cost insights for engineering and business teams
- Establish and enforce cloud cost governance frameworks, tagging standards, and policies
- Embed FinOps principles into CI/CD pipelines and engineering workflows
- Drive adoption of cost optimization best practices across teams
- Partner with Finance to align cloud usage with budgets and forecasts
- Work with Engineering teams to balance cost, performance, and scalability
- Educate teams on AWS cost management and FinOps principles
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- AWS certification (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer)
- 3–5+ years of experience in FinOps, cloud engineering, or cloud cost optimization
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS services, pricing models, and billing architecture
- Experience with cost tools such as AWS Cost Explorer, Harness CCM, Apptio, CloudCheckr or similar
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools such as Python, SQL, Power BI, or Excel
- Experience building data pipelines, dashboards, and financial models
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture and distributed systems
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Background in software engineering or platform engineering
- Experience with AWS-native services (e.g., Cost & Usage Reports, QuickSight)
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Experience implementing automated governance and policy enforcement
- FinOps certifications (e.g., FinOps Practitioner)
