Avrok Biosciences is a fast-paced biotech start-up operating as a Clinical Research Organization (CRO). They are seeking a motivated Sales Development Representative (SDR) to support the growth of their sales pipeline by identifying and engaging prospective clients in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and research prospective clients in the biotech, pharmaceutical, clinical research, diagnostics, and healthcare industries
- Build and maintain targeted prospect lists using platforms such as ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, SciLeads, or similar tools
- Monitor biotech funding activity, clinical trial pipelines, company growth, outsourcing needs, and industry trends to identify strong outreach opportunities
- Support the development of qualified leads and sales opportunities for the sales team
- Maintain organized records of prospecting activity, outreach status, and follow-up tasks
- Conduct personalized outreach through email, phone, LinkedIn, and other professional channels
- Communicate the company’s CRO services in a clear, professional, and client-centered manner
- Tailor outreach based on each prospect’s research focus, therapeutic area, funding stage, clinical development needs, or outsourcing goals
- Schedule introductory meetings, discovery calls, and follow-up conversations for the sales team
- Maintain a professional and confident presence when engaging with executives, founders, physicians, scientists, clinical leaders, and research teams
- Represent the company with professionalism, persistence, and strong attention to detail
- Work collaboratively with the sales and marketing teams to support pipeline growth and revenue goals
- Provide feedback on messaging, outreach campaigns, prospect responses, and market opportunities
- Assist in aligning marketing efforts with targeted client needs and sales priorities
- Support outreach campaigns designed to promote the company’s CRO, laboratory, and research support services
- Track outreach activity, lead status, and follow-up actions using company-approved systems and workflows
- Develop a working understanding of the company’s CRO services, including pre-clinical and clinical research support
- Understand and communicate basic concepts related to human subjects research, assay development, molecular assays, immunoassays, PCR, cell culture, PBMC isolation, HLA typing, biospecimen collection, and related laboratory services
- Stay informed about outsourcing trends in biotech, pharmaceutical, diagnostic, and clinical research industries
- Learn each prospect’s scientific focus to help create meaningful, relevant, and high-quality outreach
- Translate complex scientific services into clear value propositions for biotech and pharmaceutical decision-makers
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a life science field such as Biology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, or a related discipline preferred
- Candidates with a degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field will also be considered if they demonstrate a strong interest in healthcare, biotechnology, clinical research, or life sciences
- 2–3 years of experience in a science-related role, B2B sales, lead generation, business development, or life sciences sales is strongly preferred
- Prior experience in biotech, pharmaceutical services, medical devices, diagnostics, laboratory services, or CRO/clinical research environments is highly desirable
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to explain scientific and technical services in a clear and client-centered way
- Comfortable conducting outreach to senior-level decision-makers
- Experience with sales engagement, prospecting, and lead-sourcing platforms such as ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, HubSpot, SciLeads, or similar tools
- Ability to conduct targeted company and prospect research
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple leads, follow-ups, and outreach campaigns simultaneously
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced start-up environment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also collaborating effectively with a team
- Strong follow-through and ability to maintain consistent communication with prospects and internal team members
- Familiarity with CRO services, clinical research workflows, human subjects research, IRB-regulated studies, or biospecimen-based research
- Basic understanding of laboratory services such as PCR, immunoassays, cell culture, PBMC isolation, molecular testing, HLA typing, assay development, or sample processing
- Experience using clinical intelligence or lead-sourcing platforms such as ZoomInfo, SciLeads, or similar tools
- Knowledge of biotech funding stages, pharmaceutical pipelines, therapeutic areas, and clinical trial development
- Prior experience selling or supporting sales for scientific, diagnostic, laboratory, clinical research, or research services
- Ability to review prospect websites, scientific programs, trial activity, or funding announcements to develop personalized outreach
