AI Research Engineer

Helm AI is building a flight simulator for strategic decision making, using agentic simulations to model population-scale human behavior. The AI Research Engineer will design, implement, and evaluate machine learning models to power these simulations, focusing on complex patterns of human and organizational behavior.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and evaluate machine learning models that power Helm’s agentic simulations
• Research new algorithms, prototype and train neural network architectures, and refine models for robustness, scalability, and performance
• Collaborate with product and engineering teammates to turn research insights into production-quality systems, including building tools, APIs, and infrastructure that integrate models into the simulation platform
• Analyze experimental results, iterate on model designs, and contribute to technical documentation, code reviews, and knowledge sharing across the team
