
Job: DOCSIS Network Engineer IV Location: Englewood, CO Duration: 6+ Months contract
ONSITE JOB
10 years of experience in network engineering, broadband technologies, telecommunications, or related environments.
Advanced experience with DOCSIS technologies and cable broadband ecosystems.
Hands-on experience with:
DOCSIS
DPOE systems
Network Architecture
Network Protocols
Network Topology
Strong understanding of:
CMTS platforms
Cable Modems
CPE Devices
Firmware Validation
Network Troubleshooting
Broadband Certification Processes
In-depth knowledge of:
OSI Model
TCP/IP
Ethernet Technologies
Bridging and Switching
Routing Protocols
Optical Transport Technologies
Experience with: DPOE Network Testing, TR-069, End-to-End Testing Methodologies
Test Automation Concepts
Intermediate knowledge of industry standards and specifications including: IEEE, ANSI, EPON
Understanding of physical media technologies including:
Singlemode Fiber, Multimode Fiber, UTP Cabling
Experience analyzing network logs and performance data to identify defects and performance bottlenecks.
Strong troubleshooting skills with demonstrated attention to detail and analytical problem-solving abilities.
Experience working with testing equipment and established test methodologies.
Proficiency with Linux and/or Unix command-line environments.
Working knowledge of IPv4, IPv6, and related networking protocols.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and quickly learn new technologies.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience supporting Charter/Spectrum, Comcast, or similar MSO environments.
Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Perl.
Experience with automation platforms such as: Platypus, Koala
Experience with security testing, regression testing, and exploratory testing.
Experience with broadband certification, cable modem testing, or telecommunications quality assurance organizations.
Experience supporting DOCSIS 4.0 initiatives.
