Software Engineer - Platform & Integration

ClearOne Advantage is a fast-growing company focused on enhancing its marketing, culture, and technology. They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Platform & Integrations to design and operate scalable API services and integrations that support their core business workflows and partner ecosystem.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and operate scalable APIs and event-driven workflows across distributed systems
• Build and maintain reliable integrations with third-party APIs and external partners, including error handling, retry strategies, rate-limit management, and ongoing support
• Develop secure and maintainable APIs using best practices for authentication, authorization, API versioning, performance, observability, and documentation
• Write high-quality, clean, reusable, and testable code while applying software engineering best practices, including unit testing and peer review
• Partner with product owners, business stakeholders, operations teams, and vendors to understand requirements and deliver solutions from design through production
• Lead technical design discussions and participate in code reviews to improve code quality, consistency, maintainability, and team standards
• Establish and follow standards for security, efficiency, logging, monitoring, alerting, operational readiness, and technical documentation
• Triage and resolve production issues, support vendor-related incidents, and participate in the on-call rotation for platform services
• Mentor engineers through design feedback, code review, and practical guidance on API, integration, and distributed system best practices
• Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly to improve code quality, documentation, testing, troubleshooting, and developer productivity while maintaining strong human review and accountability

Requirements:

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, with strong backend, API, or integration development experience
• Experience integrating with enterprise platforms such as telephony systems, CRM frameworks, vendor APIs, or other business-critical external systems
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, OpenAPI/Swagger, API design, API versioning, and integration patterns
• Hands-on experience with JavaScript/Node.js or comparable backend development technologies
• Experience with relational databases, SQL, data modeling, and troubleshooting data issues across systems
• Solid understanding of software design patterns, distributed systems, idempotency, retry logic, and failure handling
• Experience building or supporting CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and production deployment workflows
• Experience with AWS cloud services such as Lambda, SQS, S3, IAM, and CloudWatch, or comparable cloud services from Azure or Google Cloud
• Demonstrated ability to participate in code reviews and promote maintainable, reusable, secure, and testable code
• Practical knowledge of API security patterns such as OAuth, JWT, API keys, secrets management, least privilege, and protection of sensitive data
• Experience with logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, and production support for business-critical services
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field / equivalent experience
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapid growth environment

• Ability to demonstrate strategic, data-driven thinking combined with efficient implementation
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to both technical peers and business customers
• Familiarity with responsible use of AI-assisted development tools, including validating AI-generated output and protecting sensitive company, customer, and partner data
• Ability to work effectively on a team while independently owning projects, tasks, and production outcomes
• Hands-on, self-starter with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
