Java Software Engineer

Peraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe. They are seeking a Software Engineer to support the development of a modernization framework and contribute to enhancements and sustainment of existing business applications.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in developing and maintaining Java-based components within the modernization framework
• Support refactoring efforts for legacy components under senior developer guidance
• Participate in implementing APIs, integrations, and backend services
• Write clean, maintainable code following defined coding standards
• Assist in documenting technical requirements, system behaviors, and application architecture updates
• Perform basic unit testing and assist with debugging activities
• Collaborate with mid-level and senior developers during design sessions and sprint ceremonies
