We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design, development, and production of complex mechanical systems and assemblies. This role involves working on product development programs, providing hands-on engineering support from initial design through assembly, testing, and final delivery.The ideal candidate will have experience with CAD modeling, strong knowledge of GD&T, and the ability to troubleshoot issues across multiple subsystems in a production or development environment.
Key Responsibilities- Research, plan, design, and develop mechanical systems, components, and assemblies
- Create and maintain 3D models, assemblies, and engineering drawings using CAD tools (preferably PTC Creo Parametric)
- Perform engineering analysis, testing, and evaluation of moderately complex design problems
- Interpret and analyze technical specifications, drawings, models, and test data to ensure compliance with engineering standards and requirements
- Apply GD&T principles and perform tolerance stack-up analysis
- Troubleshoot issues across subsystems during assembly, integration, and testing phases
- Support manufacturing activities including interaction with internal and external fabrication shops
- Document engineering work, including technical reports, design updates, and nonconformance reports
- Provide input to project plans, schedules, and budgets
- Collaborate cross-functionally and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and engineering best practices
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
- 3-8 years of relevant engineering experience
- Strong experience with 3D CAD modeling and drawing creation (Creo preferred)
- Working knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and tolerance stack analysis
- Experience solving moderately complex engineering design and development challenges
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working with manufacturing teams or vendors to build and validate designs
Preferred Qualifications- Master's degree in a related engineering discipline
- Familiarity with engineering standards and industry best practices
- Experience in a production or product development environment
- Knowledge of precision assembly tooling design
- Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems such as Windchill
- Exposure to configuration management and nonconformance processes
Work Environment- This is a fully onsite role
