Job Overview:
·The Emergency Preparedness Coordinator willinterface with the Office of Emergency Management (OEM) and support EmergencyOperations Center (EOC) operations.
·Participate in planning efforts and DiagnosticTeam Meetings (DTMs), conduct critiques, and debrief is in accordance withTitle 49 CFR §239.105, and provide administrative and coordination support forinvestigations involving agencies such as the NTSB (National TransportationSafety Board), FRA (Federal Railroad Administration), DOT (Departmentof Transportation) in NJ, NJ & PA, OSHA (Occupational Safety &Health Administration) and PEOSH (Public Employees Safety &Occupational Health).
·The position will also support emergencyplanning and response efforts by managing Emergency Action Plans and keyprogram documents, coordinating training schedules and emergency exercises,tracking corrective actions and after-action items, maintaining records foraudits and compliance reviews, assisting with incident interviews, andsupporting risk assessments and interagency coordination meetings.
·Additional responsibilities include supportingemergency communications planning, responding to incidents and safety-relatedevents as directed, and assisting with special projects assigned by the Sr.Director, Accident Investigation Unit.
Job Requirements:
·Bachelor’s degree in emergency management,Public Safety, Transportation, Homeland Security, or a related field (orequivalent experience) required.
·1–3 years of experience in emergency management,safety, operations, or a related field required.
·Basic knowledge of Title 49 CFR Part 239 orsimilar regulatory frameworks preferred, along with strong organizational,communication, and report-writing skills.
·Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word,Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
·Ability to respond to emergency incidents,including off-hours, as needed.
·Education may be substituted for experience on ayear-for-year basis.
