Sr Software Engineer (Python)

IDR, Inc. is seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer to develop and maintain back-end services for their data-driven clinical and analytical applications. This role focuses on supporting a research data platform that processes and makes research data discoverable, enabling impactful scientific insights.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain back-end services that power data-driven clinical and analytical applications
• Support a research data platform that ingests, processes, and makes research data discoverable

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, with several years of experience in software development
• Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and automation scripts in a cloud environment
• Strong proficiency in Python, especially for developing data processing and integration workflows
• Familiarity with Linux-based systems and containerized deployment using Docker
• Hands-on experience working with cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform, utilizing services like BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Dataflow
• Knowledge of data validation, ingestion, and cataloging practices within a regulated environment
• Experience with additional programming languages such as Java or R
• Prior work with Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines
• Domain knowledge in life sciences, biochemistry, genetics, or biology
• Experience working with healthcare or scientific research data
• Optional experience with healthcare, life sciences, or scientific research projects, and familiarity with related data standards and frameworks
