APOLLO TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS LLC is seeking a Staff Software Engineer (Windows) to partner with a leading enterprise organization in building a private cloud platform. The role focuses on modernizing a heavily Windows-based, mission-critical environment and involves designing and improving infrastructure systems while automating and enhancing stability.
Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure software engineer foundation
- Expertise in building towards future Windows infrastructure rather than just administering existing Windows estates
- Strong experience in Windows environments (Active Directory, SQL Server, .NET ecosystems)
- Proven track record of modernizing Windows-based systems into Linux/open-source environments
- Hands-on experience with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code
- Extensive experience with automation and orchestration
- Solid understanding of Linux systems and open-source tooling
- Partnering with a leading enterprise organization to build a private cloud platform within their own data centers, focusing on delivering cloud-like capabilities across compute, storage, and networking, while modernizing a heavily Windows-based, mission-critical environment
- Build and improve infrastructure systems within a specific domain of expertise (Windows, VMware hypervisor, storage, Linux, or networking)
- Understand existing systems at a deep technical level, automate them, improve stability, and help identify gaps
- Participate in designing new infrastructure that closes identified gaps
- Contribute to a full DevOps lifecycle for infrastructure domains
- For Windows specialists, build towards the future rather than just administering existing Windows estates
