Description
ComForCare Home Care is seeking a compassionate Caregiver / CNA to support an 80-year-old male client located in Silver Spring. The client is in the late stages of Alzheimer’s disease and requires assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including personal care, mobility support, and daily routines.
The client has cats in the home; applicants must be comfortable working around pets. The client prefers a male caregiver for this assignment.
IMPORTANT REQUIREMENTS
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle to be considered
- Must be comfortable working around cats
Schedule
- One weekday shift: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM (12 hours)
- Saturday & Sunday: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM (12 hours)
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care including bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene support
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and use of assistive devices (walker, etc.)
- Stand-by assistance and supervision for safety due to Alzheimer’s condition
- Incontinence care and toileting support
- Meal planning, preparation, and feeding assistance
- Provide companionship, emotional support, and engagement
- Light housekeeping to maintain a safe and clean environment
- Assist with laundry and grocery shopping
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow agency policies
- Follow infection control and safety procedures at all times
Household Management
- Light housekeeping (bed linens, vacuuming, dusting, trash removal)
- Cleaning kitchen and bathroom areas
- Client-only laundry
- Grocery shopping as needed
- Other duties as assigned by client or agency

Requirements
- Passion for caregiving and helping seniors live safely at home
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous caregiver experience (home care or facility) preferred
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- CNA certification is a plus
- CPR certification
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray
- Must be 18 years or older
- Ability to safely perform physical caregiving duties
