The Field Sales Representative plays a key role in driving product visibility, brand presence, and sales performance across assigned retail locations on behalf of multiple-syndicated clients. This role focuses on building strong in-store relationships, assisted selling, product training, brand advocacy, merchandising activities, and identifying opportunities to optimize product performance.
Sales, Training, & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with store management and key retail staff to support in‑store execution and sales goals.
- Drive increased sell‑through and market share within the designated territory through a comprehensive approach that includes direct consumer (B2C) engagement, assisted selling, associate training, and influencing store personnel.
- Engage directly with consumers in a retail environment to influence purchase decisions by confidently presenting product features, benefits, and value propositions.
- Act as a brand ambassador during in‑store interactions, product demonstrations, and promotional activities to increase consumer awareness, advocacy, and loyalty.
- Communicate program objectives and product knowledge to retail partners and reinforce consumer‑facing messaging that aligns with brand and promotional strategies.
- Identify consumer needs through active listening and recommend appropriate products to maximize sales outcomes and conversion.
- Identify upselling opportunities, incremental merchandising activities, and additional display placement to enhance product visibility and performance.
In‑Store Execution & Merchandising
- Ensure product availability, accurate pricing, and full shelf presence for assigned client brands.
- Execute merchandising standards including planogram compliance, stock rotation, and promotional display setup.
- Proactively identify on‑shelf issues and take corrective action (e.g., replenishment, facing, placement adjustments).
Data Collection & Reporting
- Capture in-store observations, photos, inventory counts, and competitive insights using designated reporting tools.
- Submit accurate and timely activity reports to support client analytics and program performance tracking.
- Share feedback from retailers that may influence product strategy, promotional planning, or operational improvements.
Program Coordination
- Represent multiple clients within a syndicated program while maintaining neutrality and professionalism.
- Prioritize workflow across brands based on program expectations, visit frequency, and client requirements.
- Participate in virtual or in‑person training sessions to stay current on product knowledge and execution standards.
- 1–3 years of experience in retail sales, field sales, consumer marketing, brand advocacy, or a related customer‑facing role.
- Demonstrated experience engaging directly with consumers and influencing purchasing decisions in a retail or in‑person sales environment.
- Strong understanding of sales fundamentals, customer engagement techniques, and promotional execution.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship‑building skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage schedules, and prioritize tasks across multiple client mandates.
- Comfortable using mobile applications for reporting, photo capture, and time management.
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation (if applicable to program structure).
- Willingness to complete company‑provided sales and product certification programs as required.
- Commitment to ongoing learning and skill development through structured sales training and certification opportunities provided by the company.
