How can you make a difference?

As part of the Ukraine refugee response led by the UNICEF Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia (ECARO), a Refugee Response Office was established in Poland. The Administrative & Finance Officer will serve as a strategic business partner, coordinating operational activities in the Refugee Response Office in Warsaw to support programme implementation and the delivery of results for children. The incumbent will provide risk-informed, solution-focused operational support, analysis, and advice, contributing to effective programme and management decision-making. The role will also play a key part in supporting the operational and legal closure of the office in line with the planned closure on 31 March 2027. 

The Administrative & Finance Officer is responsible for executing a broad variety of standardized administrative and financial tasks requiring thorough knowledge of UNICEF administrative and financial procedures, processes, and policies. This post mainly contributes to delivery of efficient and cost-effective administrative support services, providing guidance for operations of administrative support services.  This post ensures the office’s administrative operations and services are in compliance with the organization's administrative policy, procedures, rules and regulations.

In this capacity, the need to project the image of a credible and reliable service provider is imperative to quality of process delivery, and the impact of work directly reflects on the overall reputation of the team in terms of responsiveness to client needs and quality of process execution.

• Minimum requirements

• • 1. 1. Education: Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, Operations, International Business, Project Management and any other related fields.
       2. Work Experience: At least 1 years of relevant work experience in Administration, Financial Management, Facilities Management, Operations Management, Reporting, Budget and any other related fields.
       3. Skills: Microsoft Office, ERP system knowledge, IPSAS accounting experience, Office closure management, Workforce transition management, Government partner interaction, Client service delivery
       4. Language Requirements : Both English and Polish - Proficient/Fluent

• Desirables
  
  1. 1. Language: Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language.
     2. Experience in a UN system agency, or a large private/public company, Experience working within an upper-income EU financial and fiscal space. Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.

UNICEF appointments are subject to medical clearance.  Issuance of a visa by the host country of the duty station is required for IP positions and will be facilitated by UNICEF.
