Senior Principal Electrical Controls Engineer (W2)

ACR Group is seeking a Senior Principal Controls Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and support of advanced automation and control systems for mission-critical infrastructure and data center environments. The role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and establishing engineering standards to ensure optimal performance of automation solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Design, program, and implement PLC, IPC, SCADA, HMI, BMS, and EPMS solutions
• Develop Functional Design Specifications (FDS), Sequences of Operation (SOO), I/O Lists, and technical documentation
• Lead FAT, SAT, commissioning, startup, and system optimization activities
• Support mission-critical infrastructure and power management systems
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated automation solutions
• Establish engineering standards, reusable templates, and best practices

Requirements:

• PLC/IPC Programming: Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, Beckhoff, Codesys
• SCADA/HMI: Ignition, FactoryTalk, WinCC, AVEVA
• BMS, EPMS, MES, SCADA System Integration
• PLC, IPC, Industrial Automation, Electrical Controls, OT Systems
• Industrial Protocols: Modbus, BACnet, OPC UA, Ethernet/IP, SNMP
• FAT, SAT, Commissioning, Startup, Troubleshooting, Root Cause Analysis
• AutoCAD, EPLAN, SolidWorks, Electrical Schematics, BOMs
• Data Center Infrastructure: UPS, Generators, Switchgear, Chillers, CRAC/CRAH, Fire Protection Systems
• Low/Medium Voltage Power Distribution Systems
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 8+ years of hands-on industrial automation and controls engineering experience
• Strong communication, leadership, and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with data centers
• Experience with digital twins
• Experience with predictive maintenance
• PE license
• Experience with DevOps tools
