ACR Group is seeking a Senior Principal Controls Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and support of advanced automation and control systems for mission-critical infrastructure and data center environments. The role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and establishing engineering standards to ensure optimal performance of automation solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Design, program, and implement PLC, IPC, SCADA, HMI, BMS, and EPMS solutions
- Develop Functional Design Specifications (FDS), Sequences of Operation (SOO), I/O Lists, and technical documentation
- Lead FAT, SAT, commissioning, startup, and system optimization activities
- Support mission-critical infrastructure and power management systems
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated automation solutions
- Establish engineering standards, reusable templates, and best practices
Requirements:
- PLC/IPC Programming: Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, Beckhoff, Codesys
- SCADA/HMI: Ignition, FactoryTalk, WinCC, AVEVA
- BMS, EPMS, MES, SCADA System Integration
- PLC, IPC, Industrial Automation, Electrical Controls, OT Systems
- Industrial Protocols: Modbus, BACnet, OPC UA, Ethernet/IP, SNMP
- FAT, SAT, Commissioning, Startup, Troubleshooting, Root Cause Analysis
- AutoCAD, EPLAN, SolidWorks, Electrical Schematics, BOMs
- Data Center Infrastructure: UPS, Generators, Switchgear, Chillers, CRAC/CRAH, Fire Protection Systems
- Low/Medium Voltage Power Distribution Systems
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 8+ years of hands-on industrial automation and controls engineering experience
- Strong communication, leadership, and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with data centers
- Experience with digital twins
- Experience with predictive maintenance
- PE license
- Experience with DevOps tools
