About this role
Higharc is a VC-backed startup that is changing how new homes are designed and built. They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to work on their innovative Estimate product, which transforms generative building designs into quick and reliable material takeoffs.
Responsibilities:
- Work across a large surface area of our product – optimizing queries, building React components, establishing frontend state patterns, writing e2e tests, integrating external APIs, and occasionally digging into our CAD and geometry layers
- Own projects end-to-end: work cross-functionally to shape product solutions, translate requirements into actionable engineering work, and communicate risks and opportunities early – without needing heavy overhead to get there
- Maintain high code quality through risk-based tests and thoughtful code reviews
Requirements:
- Full-stack proficiency
- Strong TypeScript/JavaScript fundamentals
- Solid experience with React
- Solid experience with Node.js
- Solid experience with REST
- Solid experience with SQL
- Ability to work across a large surface area of the product
- Ability to own projects end-to-end
- Ability to maintain high code quality through risk-based tests and thoughtful code reviews
- Ability to take initiative when requirements are ambiguous
- Ability to coordinate across functions to get unblocked
- Ability to drive toward a solution
- Track record of owning features end-to-end and bringing others along
- Experience with graphics, geometry, or spatial programming is a plus
