ABOUT THE ROLE Our client is seeking a reliable Imaging Equipment Technician for a 3-month contract in Davenport, Iowa. In this on-site role, you will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, repair, and performance verification of a wide range of diagnostic imaging equipment-including CT scanners, MRI systems, X-ray units, fluoroscopy equipment, ultrasound systems, and related peripherals-within a hospital environment. You will work independently, often traveling between multiple hospital sites, and collaborate closely with clinicians to resolve equipment issues and ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operation of all imaging systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with imaging devices, strong technical and troubleshooting skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with hospital staff.
WHAT YOU'LL DO- Inspect, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot diagnostic imaging equipment (CT, MRI, X-ray, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, and peripherals).
- Perform repairs and preventive maintenance (PMs) on imaging devices in a hospital setting.
- Verify performance and ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operation of imaging systems.
- Collaborate with clinicians to address equipment issues and provide technical support.
- Work independently and travel between multiple hospital sites as required.
- Document service activities, maintenance records, and compliance reports.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Maintain knowledge of electrical, mechanical, electronic, and computer systems relevant to imaging equipment.
- Deliver excellent communication and customer service to hospital staff.
WHAT YOU BRING- Associate degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics Technology, Engineering Technology, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience servicing medical equipment, biomedical systems, or diagnostic imaging equipment.
- Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, electronic, and computer systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Experience supporting CT and MRI systems in a hospital or healthcare environment (preferred).
- Certification as a Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) or equivalent (preferred).
- OEM training from major imaging manufacturers (preferred).
- Experience with PACS, DICOM, and healthcare network environments (preferred).
