The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the Company's financial records and reporting. This role performs and reviews accounting activities including account reconciliations, journal entries, financial statement preparation, fixed asset accounting, inventory accounting, and month-end and year-end close processes. The Senior Accountant analyzes financial data, investigates variances, supports internal and external audits, and helps maintain compliance with GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements, and company policies. Working closely with operations, management, and cross-functional teams, this position contributes to process improvements, strengthens internal controls, and supports informed business decision-making.
§ Prepare, review, and post journal entries to support accurate monthly close processes
§ Perform reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, including cash, AR, AR, inventory, & fixed assets
§ Prepare and monitor capital expenditure requests and related documentation
§ Serve as a resource for staff, including AP, AR, and other accounting personnel by providing guidance on accounting policies and procedures
§ Assist with internal and external audit preparation
§ Support Controller and management team with special projects as assigned
§ Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
§ 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
§ Extensive Experience in month-end and year-end close process
§ High attention to detail and accuracy
§ Experience with internal and external audits
§ Read, write, and understand English fluently, good grammar and math skills.
§ Ability to learn, understand, and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
§ Proficient in spreadsheets, financial applications, ERP systems, preferably Syteline and Lawson.
§ Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite.
§ Ability to organize and prioritize work
§ Ability to work independently and collaboratively within the team and across departments for shared goals.
