
Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Bachelor's Degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Two (2) years of full-time Financial Aid/Accounts experience. Microsoft and/or Google proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Higher Education Administration or related field. Admissions, Financial Aid, and/or Student Accounts Experience. Experience providing one-on-one advising to students. Familiarity with PeopleSoft and/or other data management systems.
Brief Description of Duties:
The primary function of this position is to provide direct customer service and advice to students enrolled in the MD program at the Renaissance School of Medicine. Services to students will include: assistance with financial aid applications and billing/payment; determining eligibility for federal, state, private, and Stony Brook University financial aid resources within guidelines and standards; partner with the AAMC/FIRST program to conduct FA information sessions and required financial aid entrance and exit counseling sessions; conduct required Financial Planning sessions as part of Transition to Residency course for graduating students. The successful incumbent will demonstrate strong interpersonal and organizational skills, exceptional attention to details, the ability to problem-solve while multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment, adaptability in working as part of a team and independently, a collaborative approach to problem solving and working knowledge of graduate/professional financial aid resources.
