About this role
Melyn is a purpose-built platform supporting First Nations communities across Canada. As a Senior Platform Engineer/Full Stack Developer, you will own key components of the product, designing and building systems that empower communities while adhering to OCAP principles.
Responsibilities:
- Design and build scalable APIs, data models, and backend services using Node.js, Python, or Go
- Develop responsive, accessible frontends with React and Next.js
- Architect and manage AWS infrastructure including EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, CloudFormation, SageMaker, and Bedrock
- Integrate LLM APIs, RAG pipelines, and vector search capabilities into production systems
- Deploy and optimize local and self-hosted LLMs for privacy-sensitive workloads and on-premise use cases where OCAP compliance requires it
- Own CI/CD pipelines, containerization with Docker and Kubernetes, and DevOps workflows
- Set technical direction, raise the bar in code review, and mentor the engineers who join after you
- Collaborate asynchronously with a distributed, cross-functional team to ship features that solve real problems for real communities
