Lockheed Martin is looking for an experienced mechanical engineering to support the SNIPER sensor program. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for the creation, coordination, and release of mechanical design artifacts that feed into the Sniper Program.
Responsibilities:
- Generate complete, release ready engineering documents (drawings, BOMs, assembly parts lists) for fabrication and procurement
- Perform tolerance stack up and fit analyses to ensure manufacturability and reliability of mechanical components
- Conduct design reviews, incorporate feedback, and secure formal engineering release approvals
- Building BOMs, creating parts, assemblies, and design documentation within Windchill PLM
- Coordinating the IPT team, suppliers, GSC, electronic packaging, optics, and structural/thermal/material analysts to ensure design excellence, including occasional travel for site visits
Requirements:
- B.S in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in a relevant industry
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5 and complex system-level tolerance analysis
- Proficient in Computer Aided Design (PTC CREO preferred)
- Experience generating engineering drawings, documents, parts lists and specifications
- Ability to obtain a security clearance
- Opto-Mechanical Design Experience
- Leadership experience, leading tasking and decision making over small or large teams
- Have the ability to guide major projects to completion and engage with senior personnel on significant matters, including multi-functional and multi-site teams
- Have the ability to lead investigative efforts and report status to senior personnel
