Cognizant is seeking a Lead Quality Engineer Test Automation with Playwright and Selenium Experience to design and deliver modern test automation solutions. The role involves collaborating with developers and stakeholders to ensure high-quality digital experiences through effective test strategies and automation frameworks.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable end-to-end test automation frameworks using Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript)
- Develop and maintain automated test suites for functional, regression, and integration testing
- Partner with developers, business analysts, and product owners to define test strategies and acceptance criteria
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) to enable continuous testing
- Execute UI and API testing leveraging Playwright capabilities
- Identify, document, and track defects using tools such as Rally, driving resolution with engineering teams
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
- Create and maintain test reports and dashboards to provide visibility into quality metrics
- Contribute to test planning, estimation, and release readiness for new features
Requirements:
- 8+ years of Quality Engineering experience, including hands-on Playwright UI automation
- Strong experience with Selenium and Java-based automation frameworks
- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and Java for test development
- Solid experience with the Page Object Model (POM) design pattern
- Hands-on experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins)
- Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and QA lifecycle
- Experience with defect management and test management tools (Rally preferred)
- Experience with API automation and service-level testing
- Exposure to modern testing frameworks and cloud-based QA environments
- Ability to drive test optimization and framework improvements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Experience working in distributed Agile teams
