What you bring to the table  

The purpose of this position is to assist the Production Supervisor in the management and administration of the Lesaffre Blending Facility. Duties to include safety, food safety, quality, production plan execution, receiving raw materials, weighing and mixing ingredients, packaging and shipping final products, and other operational requirements. This position follows a rotating schedule from 10a-10p but will fill in outside of this shift for relief coverage.

 

What you’ll do as a Lead Relief Operator

• Demonstrates an unwavering commitment to Lesaffre's safety-first culture by strictly following all safety protocols and participating in required safety programs 

• Understand and effectively utilize all employee safety programs to ensure proper procedures are followed 

• Provide direction and priorities for production/warehouse tasks during shift 

• Create a positive and constructive work environment

• Continually check on production/warehouse tasks during shift

• Continually check on production to ensure smooth operation 

• Be subject matter expert for equipment and processes 

• Provide support to the production floor 

• Complete production batch records in the ERP system 

• Responsible for setting up internal transfers of finished product 

• Review equipment PMs and WO tracking 

• Oversees training of new operators 

• Mechanical aptitude and trouble-shooting skills 

• Ability to accurately report data and maintain records 

• Cover operator responsibilities during vacation and known absences 

• Staging of required raw materials and packaging materials 

• Requires ability to follow a recipe to create a blend to be mixed 

• Requires ability to follow procedures to package product in various packaging types 

• Completion of in process production checks 

• Document, inspect and unload materials per written procedures 

• Prepare products for shipment, load trucks and complete required paperwork 

• Requires ability to operate fork truck and floor scrubber 

• Maintain warehouse and production areas in a clean and orderly condition 

• Perform routine and non-routing cleaning inside and outside the facility 

• Able to accurately report data and maintain records 

• Other duties as assigned 

 

Required qualifications:    

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred 

• Food product packaging and/or blending experience preferred 

• Shipping and/or receiving experience preferred 

• Ability to coordinate multiple priorities and follow through to completion 

• Excellent mechanical aptitude and trouble-shooting skills 

• Ability to prioritize and organize work 

• Computer proficiency required 

• Solid understanding of basic math and science and the ability to apply this knowledge 

• Must be able to work with minimal supervision 

• Must be detail oriented and safety minded
