Retail Loan Underwriter I

Role Overview

• Responsible for reviewing consumer loan applications to determine qualification and documentation accuracy.
• Meet and exceed bank service standards while complying with procedures and security protocols.
• Provide outstanding customer service utilizing sales training skills.
• Check the VIN of collateral for accuracy against the State’s website.
• Review and process TMS transactions on approved dealer loans.
• Complete underwriting portion of consumer loan checklist.
• Prepare extension and modification forms as necessary.
• Perform 2nd lender review of declined loans.
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding customers’ personal and financial information.
• Attend meetings and training sessions as requested.
• Comply and satisfactorily pass tests for bank policy and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
• one to three months related experience and/or training;
• equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimal math and computer skills
• Excellent communication, customer service, precise work and time-management skills
• Ability to pass a background check
• Strong dedication to accuracy and efficiency
• Valid Driver’s License
