UNC Health is a large healthcare organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of communities in North Carolina. The Business Applications Analyst role focuses on the design, build, and maintenance of scheduling systems within Epic Cadence, collaborating with various departments to enhance patient access and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Serves in a cross-functional role that aids in the design, build, and maintenance of scheduling patterns and templates in Epic Cadence for all clinics and ancillaries across the healthcare system
- Collaborates with key members of operations and management to support visit type creation that works in conjunction with key scheduling components such as rules, blocks, pools, and other data elements required to schedule appointments
- Functions as the primary liaison with the Information Services Department for dictionary support, table entries, training, drafting, maintenance, and enforcement of policies and procedures relative to registration and scheduling so as to maintain system standards promoting patient access
- Works closely with other Epic Core teams and Operations to build key components necessary for Cadence scheduling
- Ensures new departments joining the UNC system are built to comply with standards included in the Template Tool Policy
- Resolves Service Now Incidents and Tasks related to scheduling and template build
- Provides end user support for all UNC owned and managed clinics along with Community Connects
- Establishes and provides oversight to the application of enterprise-wide standards and guidelines as well as ensure effective maintenance of scheduling guidelines
- Offers guidance on best practices and opportunities for optimal capacity according to guidelines and standards
- Ensures that templates are adapted to meet the needs of patients and operations as indicated by access data, patient satisfaction, and operational feedback
- Works collaboratively with clinic operations, scheduling services, call centers, revenue management and ISD to ensure effective template design
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information System Management, Math/Science or related field (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience)
- If a Bachelor's degree: Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience working with information systems
- If an Associate's degree: Seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience working with information systems
- If a High School diploma or GED: Eleven (11) years of progressively responsible experience working with information systems
- Problem-solving skills, excellent computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience with Patient Scheduling, Electronic Health Record, and Billing systems helpful
