We’re seeking a Sr. Buyer/Planner to support advanced procurement, material planning, inventory control, and vendor coordination in a manufacturing or steel-related environment. This role requires strong ERP/MRP experience and the ability to keep materials, suppliers, production needs, and inventory levels aligned.
Key Responsibilities

Manage procurement activities for materials, components, equipment, and production-related needs.

Use ERP/MRP systems to review demand, release purchase orders, track inventory, and support planning requirements.

Coordinate with vendors to confirm pricing, lead times, availability, delivery schedules, and order status.

Support material planning by reviewing forecasts, production schedules, inventory levels, and shortage risks.

Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier data, delivery updates, and inventory planning information.

Work with production, operations, engineering, inventory, logistics, and finance teams to resolve material issues.

Identify supply chain risks, late deliveries, cost changes, and potential inventory gaps.

Support cost savings, vendor performance improvement, and process improvement initiatives.

Track open orders, expedite critical materials, and help ensure production schedules are properly supported.
Required Experience

5 or more years of experience in buying, planning, purchasing, procurement, material planning, or supply chain.

Strong ERP/MRP system experience required.

Experience managing purchasing, inventory planning, vendor coordination, and material availability.

Understanding of procurement processes, lead times, supplier management, purchase orders, and production support.

Knowledge of manufacturing, telecommunications, steel, or related industrial environments.

Ability to analyze demand, inventory levels, shortages, supplier performance, and planning data.

Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate across internal teams and external vendors.

Bachelor’s degree required.
Preferred Experience

NetSuite inventory experience preferred.

Experience with advanced procurement, high-volume purchasing, long-lead materials, or complex supply chains.

Background with steel, fabricated products, manufacturing components, or industrial materials.

Experience improving vendor performance, inventory accuracy, cost control, and material flow.
