The Engineer-BIM will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and maintaining Building Information Models (BIM) throughout the project lifecycle. The role involves close coordination with architectural, structural, MEP, and site execution teams to ensure accurate digital models, clash-free designs, and timely project delivery. Experience in large-scale residential, commercial, or redevelopment projects is preferred. The responsibilities align with common BIM practices used on major building projects.
- Develop, update, and maintain Architectural, Structural, and MEP BIM models using Autodesk Revit in accordance with project BIM standards.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary BIM models to ensure seamless integration between Architecture, Structure, MEP, and other project disciplines.
- Perform clash detection using Navisworks and facilitate resolution of design conflicts with consultants and contractors.
- Ensure compliance with the project's BIM Execution Plan (BEP), Level of Development (LOD), and client BIM requirements.
- Generate coordinated construction drawings, shop drawings, schedules, sections, elevations, and quantities from BIM models.
- Review consultant and contractor BIM submissions for quality, accuracy, and compliance with project standards.
- Support design coordination meetings by presenting BIM models, identifying issues, and tracking action items until closure.
- Coordinate with the site execution team to incorporate approved design revisions and as-built information into BIM models.
- Manage model version control and documentation within the Common Data Environment (CDE) such as Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)/BIM 360.
- Conduct regular quality checks and model audits to ensure BIM models meet project standards and are free from errors.
- Assist project planning and construction teams by integrating BIM models with project schedules (4D BIM) and quantity information (5D BIM), where applicable.
- Prepare BIM coordination reports, clash reports, progress reports, and model status updates for the Project Manager and client.
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, MEP consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of design and construction issues.
- Support the implementation of BIM workflows throughout the project lifecycle, from design through construction and handover.
- Ensure all BIM deliverables are submitted within the project schedule and comply with client and contractual requirements.
- Assist in developing and maintaining BIM standards, templates, and best practices for the project.
- Provide technical support and guidance to project team members on BIM-related tools, processes, and workflows.
- Participate in site visits and coordination meetings to verify model accuracy against actual construction progress and update models accordingly.
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, project specifications, and quality management procedures.
