Engineer II, Data

Bellese Technologies is a mission-driven Digital Services Company committed to pioneering innovative technology solutions in civic healthcare. They are seeking a Data Engineer to join the HQR Data Team, responsible for maintaining and improving software that supports the Hospital Quality Reporting program.

Responsibilities:

• Leverage test-driven development to deliver backend systems and user interfaces to ease development and integration between them
• Contribute to the development of APIs, specifications, and data models, facilitating integration with frontend applications and third-party systems
• Design, implement, and maintain data interactions. Optimize data operations for performance and scalability, and ensure data integrity and security
• Design and develop user interfaces, informed by UX designs that meet customer needs
• Understand and contribute to functional and non-functional automated testing suites

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field, may be substituted with work experience
• Strong experience with Python / Apache Spark (non-negotiable)
• Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL process, Orchestration, and distributed computing
• Strong understanding of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms
• Experience with Agile development methodologies
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Related experience in analytic programming, data extraction, querying databases/data warehouses and data analysis
• Experience utilizing CI/CD Pipelines
• US Citizenship or Green Card only - we do not offer Sponsorship
• US Residency for at least the past 3 years
• Able to meet the requirements to hold a position of Public Trust, including successful completion of a US Government background investigation
• AWS Experience (S3, EC2, Glue, Lambda, etc)
• R experience
• Professional Databricks/Apache Spark Certification(s)
• SAS experience
