Cornerstone Research is an economic and financial consulting firm that specializes in complex disputes and regulatory investigations. They are seeking a Healthcare and Life Sciences Data Specialist to lead data analysis for litigation and regulatory work, advising on analytic strategy and constructing outcome measures.
Responsibilities:
- Consulting with case teams to determine the appropriate data sources needed to conduct the desired analyses
- Optimizing procedures for processing large, complex datasets into standard analytic builds
- Using, developing, and modifying agentic AI agents and skills (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, Gemini 3) for applied data analysis
- Identifying opportunities to expand the ARC's catalog of agents and skills and designing improved workflows that incorporate these tools
- Using industry-specific knowledge to propose and construct key outcome measures to support the strategic goals of the analysis
- Implementing and interpreting the results of the econometric analyses
Requirements:
- At least 4-5 years of relevant work experience in data analysis, data science, business intelligence, or a related analytical field (relevant education may substitute for experience)
- Strong technical experience and a deep understanding of the modern data analysis stack (e.g., SQL, Python/R)
- At least 2-3 years of experience working with one or more of the following types of data: Healthcare claims data (originating from payer or provider), State-level hospital discharge data, Pharmaceutical sales or dispensation data, Pharmaceutical formulary data
- Demonstrated strong leadership, analytical, communication, and teamwork skills
- Interest in economics, healthcare, and life sciences
- Graduate degree in quantitative fields such as Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or Computer Science, and/or a health-related field such as Health Economics, Health Services Research, Biostatistics, or Health Policy
- Ability to apply advanced statistical and econometric methods to address complex research questions
- Hands-on experience using agentic AI tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or Gemini 3 in applied analytical work; candidates who have experience developing agents, skills, and other tools are strongly preferred and will be prioritized
- Experience in a professional services environment (e.g., economic consulting, management consulting, legal services, finance)
- Experience working in the healthcare or life sciences industries, or in a related government agency
- Knowledge of key healthcare and life sciences concepts, including: The interplay between payers, providers, patients, and various intermediaries in the US healthcare system
- Major government programs including Medicare (Parts A, B, D, and Medicare Advantage), Medicaid, and the ACA marketplaces
- Characteristics of managed care (e.g. utilization review, prior authorization, network design)
- The pharmaceutical drug development and commercialization processes
- Interactions in the pharmaceutical supply chain between manufacturers, PBMs, wholesalers, pharmacies, insurers, and other end-payers
- Foundational and emerging topics in health policy, such as surprise billing legislation, the 340B program, and changes to Medicare Part D from the Inflation Reduction Act
