Senior Software/Fullstack Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack) to design, build, and scale a mission-driven platform that improves access to essential services for vulnerable populations. This role plays a critical part in modernizing care delivery by replacing manual processes with intelligent, data-driven systems that support housing, food access, childcare, and healthcare coordination.

Responsibilities:

• Designing and building scalable full-stack applications to replace manual, spreadsheet-based workflows
• Developing intuitive frontend experiences using React and modern JavaScript frameworks
• Architecting and implementing backend services and APIs using Node.js
• Creating systems that track the full lifecycle of “care members,” identifying needs and prioritizing interventions
• Integrating AI-native capabilities (e.g., Claude AI) to enhance decision-making and workflow automation
• Building data pipelines and analytics tools to provide actionable insights and predictive capabilities
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate community and operational needs into technical solutions
• Deploying and managing applications in AWS cloud environments
• Ensuring application performance, scalability, and security best practices are met

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in full stack software development
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, React, and Node.js
• Experience working with PostgreSQL or other relational databases
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and deployment pipelines
• Familiarity with AI-native development tools (e.g., Claude AI)
• Experience building internal tools, workflow systems, or data-driven applications
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams
• Strong interest in applying AI to product development
• Experience working within healthcare, Medicaid, or social services environments
