Role Overview
Superlanet is seeking a bilingual Payroll & Accounting Specialist to support our CFO with bookkeeping, payroll, timekeeping, and day-to-day accounting operations. This role is for candidates based in the Tijuana area and will initially be performed remotely as an independent contractor. Once our Tijuana office is established , we e xpect t h e candidate to transition to a full-time, on-site position.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, trustworthy, and comfortable handling confidential financial information. They will play a key role in supporting Superlanet's payroll, accounting, and financial operations while helping establish scalable processes for our growing Mexico team.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll & Accounting
Process payroll and maintain accurate employee timekeeping records.
Perform bookkeeping, accounts payable, account reconciliations, and general accounting activities.
Prepare financial reports, reconciliations, spreadsheets, and supporting documentation for the CFO.
Maintain accurate financial records while ensuring the confidentiality of payroll and employee information.
Operational Support
Partner with the CFO to support day-to-day financial operations and administrative initiatives.
Assist in developing and improving accounting, payroll, and financial processes as Superlanet expands its Mexico operations.
Help maintain accurate financial documentation and ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
Collaborate with internal teams to support payroll accuracy, reporting, and operational efficiency.

Required
3+ years of hands-on experience in accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, and employee timekeeping.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting , Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Fluent in both English and Spanish (written and verbal).
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience using QuickBooks or similar cloud-based accounting software, along with payroll and timekeeping platforms.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential financial and payroll information with professionalism and integrity.
Must be based in the Tijuana area and able to transition to a full-time, onsite role once our office is established .
Preferred
Experience supporting a CFO, Controller, or other finance leader.
Experience working with a U.S.-based company or supporting U.S. payroll and accounting operations.
E xperience preparing financial reports, account reconciliations, and month -end close activities.
Familiarity with U.S. payroll practices and accounting best practices.
Independent contractor rate: MXN $350–500 per hour, based on experience.
