Zelestra U.S. is a fast-growing business unit within Zelestra, a global renewable energy company focused on making decarbonization a reality for its partners. The Project Engineering Manager will lead and oversee engineering efforts for utility scale solar/ESS/wind projects, managing a team of engineers and ensuring alignment with company standards.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of design (project) engineers, providing direction, mentorship, and performance oversight
- Ensure engineering designs and contracting align with Zelestra standards (including the creation of new standards where appropriate) and incorporating lessons learned from previous projects
- Lead coordination (with internal and external stakeholders) of the 10%, 30%, 60%, IFC engineering packages for solar/BESS/Wind
- Lead developing technical scopes of work templates for LNTP, EPC, & owners engineering efforts
- Support technical due diligence of Independent Engineers supporting project financing
- Maintain repositories for lesson’s learned across projects for continuous improvement of the department
- Utilize the Zelestra early and late stage processes during the design and construction of projects
- Support reviewing project estimates and ensure they meet the project specific design basis
- Lead/Support major equipment selection for solar/wind/BESS
- Key contact for all project related technical issues and technical scope
- Maintain relationships with key engineering partners
- Lead/manage/update Zelestra design engineering processes
- Utilization of AI in day-to-day activities to increase efficiency and productivity for assigned tasks
Requirements:
- BS in Civil, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent specific to renewables
- Minimum experience of 5-10+ years in engineering companies developing similar functions
- Minimum of 3+ years of direct leadership experience
- Willingness to obtain PE license
- Office remote, availability to travel 25-35%
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Procore or equivalent project management tools, Bluebeam, CAD, applicable renewable energy codes and standards, and AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Microsoft Copilot is preferred
