AlphaSignal is building the intelligence layer for AI, and they are seeking a Product Manager to own AlphaSignal Pro end to end. The role involves defining the product's value proposition, managing the conversion experience, and collaborating with various teams to enhance subscriber engagement and retention.
Responsibilities:
- Define and own the AlphaSignal Pro value proposition — what features, content, and data justify the subscription
- Own the free-to-paid conversion funnel end-to-end: paywall placement, upgrade triggers, trial mechanics, onboarding
- Build the subscriber retention loop — engagement signals, churn prediction, win-back flows
- Work with editorial to productize content: gated deep-dives, paper analysis, model research, and curated repo access
- Define and ship the data/API access product for engineers (the "Pro for builders" tier)
- Set the measurement framework: conversion rate, MRR, retention, NPS, and engagement by cohort
- Run structured experiments — pricing, packaging, feature gates, upgrade copy
Requirements:
- 3–7 years of product experience, with at least 2 years owning a consumer or prosumer subscription product
- You've shipped a free-to-paid conversion flow and can point to metrics you moved
- You understand the technical AI audience — you don't need to be an ML engineer, but you read the same content our subscribers do
- Strong product intuition for what a power user will pay for vs. expect for free
- Comfortable being the person who decides, not just facilitates
- Data-driven but not data-paralyzed — you run experiments, you also ship on conviction
- Background at a freemium AI or tech media product (Perplexity, Hugging Face, The Information, Axios Pro, Morning Brew, Medium)
- Experience with content-gating, paywall architecture, or tiered data access products
- You've worked at a company where the product and the editorial team had to deeply collaborate
- You've built for a developer or research audience
