Location: Atlanta, GA- Onsite or Remote

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Modernization Architect to lead large-scale modernization initiatives by transforming legacy mainframe applications into cloud-native solutions on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in mainframe modernization, Java development, cloud architecture, and emerging Agentic AI technologies.

• Lead end-to-end mainframe modernization and cloud migration initiatives.
• Design target-state architectures leveraging Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).
• Modernize COBOL/Mainframe applications using Java-based microservices and cloud-native architectures.
• Design and implement Agentic AI-driven development solutions to accelerate modernization.
• Develop scalable Java applications using Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and development teams to define modernization roadmaps.
• Establish CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and cloud security standards.
• Provide technical leadership, code reviews, and architecture governance.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of IT experience with strong Architecture experience.
• Hands-on experience with Mainframe Modernization projects.
• Strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).
• Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and REST APIs.
• Experience with legacy technologies such as COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, VSAM, or IMS.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes/GKE).
• Strong understanding of cloud migration strategies and enterprise integration.
• Experience with Agentic AI or AI-assisted software development frameworks.
